A Chance to Improve the Quality of Health Care

Portfolio Program Reviewers are important contributors to the advancement of quality/performance/practice improvement (QI/PI) within leading organizations. They help evaluate potential new Portfolio Sponsors and organizational quality improvement initiatives according to Portfolio Program Standards and Guidelines. This supports improvements in the quality of care for patients nationwide.

Program Reviewers are volunteer physicians and professionals with expertise in QI/PI, as well as broad knowledge within their specialty. They are selected based upon their personal qualifications and are not representatives of their parent organizations. Serving as a Program Reviewer offers additional personal benefits:

  • Meeting and collaborating with other physicians versed in QI/PI science
  • Adding to medical knowledge and professional enrichment
  • Receiving recognition from the Portfolio Program to support career development and academic advancement
  • Receiving ABMS Program for Maintenance of Certification (ABMS MOC®) Improvement in Medical Practice (Part IV) credit for meeting participation requirements in the Program Reviewer role
